The Faculty Senate is the SMCC faculty governance body. It is composed of faculty representatives selected in accordance with the policies and procedures outlined within the SMCC Faculty Senate Constitution.
Purpose
The purposes of the SMCC Faculty Senate shall be:
- to promote excellence in teaching at South Mountain Community College;
- to represent the college Faculty in its relationships with the Maricopa County Community College District Governing Board, the District Administration, the South Mountain Community College Administration, the students of South Mountain Community College, and the Community, including other educational associations; and
- to participate in the formation and implementation of educational policies and professional working conditions for South Mountain Community College.
