Melanie Audet, Director of the Foundation for Blind Children is partnering with SMCC's Computer & Information Technology FOI Team for an interactive event. She will be discussing the vision and mission of the Foundation for Blind Children and assistive technology or any device, software, or equipment that helps individuals with disabilities to perform tasks, improve their independence, and enhance their quality of life. Examples of assistive technology include screen readers, braille displays, voice recognition software, and mobility aids like wheelchairs or walkers. She will be discussing how we can support and serve the blind community with technologies we use every day.
