PTK Induction

Join us for the Phi Theta Kappa Induction Celebration, presented by Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society.

Indulge in a delightful feast at our induction celebration, as PTK warmly welcomes and celebrates our newest inductees into the esteemed Alpha Eta Delata Chapter.

Our Keynote Speaker will be 2023-2024 PTKInternational Officer, Vice President of Division IV, Jasmine Garcia.

Jasmine Garcia served as Phi Theta Kappa 2023-2024 International Vice President of pision IV. Her community college journey began in Fall 2021 when she enrolled at Mohave Community College in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, to pursue an associate’s degree in mathematics. In Spring 2022, she became a student-worker in administration through work-study. A few short months later, she became a part-time mathematics tutor in the Student Success Center.

In Fall 2022, Jasmine was inducted into Alpha Chi Chi Chapter and took an oath of office as chapter treasurer. She was also president of the Student Activities Council and vice president of the Arts Club that same year. She campaigned for and was elected as one of five International Officers for Phi Theta Kappa in April 2023.

As an International Officer, Jasmine presided at PTK Catalyst 2024 in Orlando, the 2023 Regional Institute for all of the Society’s regional leaders in Jackson, MS, and presented virtually and in-person at PTK’s regional conferences including Nevada/California, New Mexico, Pacific, and Arizona. Under the direction of PTK’s President/CEO Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, she also spoke at the Association of Community College Trustees conference last fall in Las Vegas. In addition, the team created the recently launched commUNITY, a limited-series podcast that celebrates community colleges.

As a first-generation college student, she is dedicated to learning the ins and outs of community college to educate her loved ones wanting to begin their academic journey. Jasmine is passionate about advocating for students and accessibility to student resources.

After Jasmine completes her associate’s degree, she plans to transfer to a university for her bachelor’s. Her career goal is to teach mathematics.
