SMCC Phi Theta Kappa Awarded at Regional Convention

The South Mountain Community College Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Chapter attended the PTK Regional Convention on March 11 and 12. Students had the opportunity to connect with other students, network with other professionals and learn about academic and social topics.

During the conference, the SMCC PTK Chapter brought home several awards, recognizing their teamwork, college-wide projects, and student leadership on campus.

The chapter is highly involved in moving technology and student involvement forward. Their college project involved developing an interactive app, taking the spotlight regionally and on campus. A project students and faculty involved are excited to share when ready to launch. “We are now in phase two of the project, moving toward final development, testing, and implementation,” shared Dr. Carol Smith, PTK advisor and faculty.

The interactive app earned the College Project award, highlighting the innovative work all student created. “We are so grateful to administrators, faculty, and students across the campus who have contributed to the success of the College Project development.”
