Advising Walk-in Hours
Field of Interest (FOI) academic advising appointments are available year round and should be scheduled with the advisor for your degree or certificate program whenever possible.

We have academic advisors available on a walk-in basis during our Student Enrollment Services (SES) hours of operation.
Summer
Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 6:00pm
Closed Fridays
Fall and Spring
Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 6:00pm
Fridays from 10:00am-5:00pm

Advising support is located at:
South Mountain Community College Main Campus
Student Enrollment Services (SES) building
Please check in with the Welcome Center staff upon your arrival.
Relax in the Student Enrollment Services (SES) waiting room.
Your academic advisor will come to meet you in the waiting room at your appointment time or at your turn during advising walk-ins.
Come prepared:
- Bring copies of your unofficial transcripts from high school (or high school equivalency), and colleges or universities outside of the Maricopa Community College District (where applicable).
- If you are transferring to South Mountain Community College from another college or university, request official copies of all transcripts be sent to South Mountain Community College ATT: Admissions, 7050 S. 24th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85042.
- Know your Maricopa Enterprise ID (MEID) and bring a valid photo identification
- Check your Maricopa Student Center account for any registration holds and clear up what you can prior to seeing an advisor.
- Review your degree or certificate pathway map for required and critical courses for your major.
- Run and review your Degree Progress Report report.
- Learn how to run a Degree Progress Report
- Bring a written list of questions you would like to discuss and ideas of courses you are planning to take next semester.
- Please check course availability in the schedule of classes.
- If asking questions about a letter, email, or form that you received from anyone at the college, bring it with you for the advisor to review.
