Transcript Evaluation
Official Transcripts:
Official high school transcripts are required for Federal Financial Aid.
Admitted students can send official post-secondary transcripts from other institutions to be evaluated as transfer credit. South Mountain Community College (SMCC) only evaluates transfer credit for program seekers. Official transcripts:
- Are normally evaluated within 2-4 weeks
- Cannot be hand delivered
- Must be delivered through educational institution(s) or third-party translator(s)/evaluator(s) via the physical mail, Parchment, and/or National Student Clearinghouse.
- Can be mailed to SMCC from the originating institution in a sealed envelope to:

Please email transcripts@southmountaincc.edu if you:
- Requested your official transcripts be sent to SMCC before you got admitted and want your transcripts to be evaluated and processed.
- Want to confirm your official transcripts have been received.
- Have questions about transcripts and the evaluation process.
Note: Transcripts mailed or presented by the student, even if they are in a sealed envelope and noted as such, are not considered official transcripts.
Unofficial Transcripts:
Unofficial transcripts can be used for course placement or to satisfy course pre-requisites. Course credit listed on unofficial transcripts will not be officially evaluated or posted to the student account.
International Transcripts:
SMCC does not evaluate international transcripts. International transcripts must be translated, evaluated, and mailed directly to SMCC by an international credential evaluator to:
